Treasuring Emma

Well. As you have read my two earlier reviews I tend to like my books a little more...... adventurous then this book looks but I have sworn to be diverse in this blog so here we go.

Treasuring Emma came to me threw book sneeze for free, as I have signed up to write reviews on any books I read for them. This book is written by Kathleen Fuller. I choose to read this book because a while back I read an Amish book and started to look into their life style and their way of living. Now from what I know the Amish would not allow their women to read romance novels. ( those dirty things. tehehe)
So the very fact not only is there one of these book but a hole series just makes me giggle. I think I did pick a rather good book this time as it seem to have everything. The soon to be old maid at 24 years old, whose life is full of misery at every turn in the road. The difficult older sister already married off and with children. Loving and super intuitive yet sick Grandma, the banished ex love of her life. Last but not least a new man in town...... Good... or... BAD.....

I found the story held my attention very well and rather enjoyed how the author jumped to each character, you never got bored. How ever being that it was considered a romance book I did assume there would be at least one or two heated scenes in the book. Being that is was Amish I knew that a sex scene might be a little too much to ask. Looking back I guess there was at least one Heat scene. For me how ever it was just not enough. To me a good romance novel must have sex inside some where, and the usual build up of sexual tension, ending of course with the ultimate sex scene. Ok now I'm just getting hope full aren't I.
That being said I found this book more of a drama then a romance so I'm going to be giving it three star's out of five.

Hit List

So "HIT LIST" hmmmmm what can I say really..... Hit list is written by Laurell K Hamilton. So for anyone that reads fiction or simply loves books will already know this lady's book will kick the ass of any other book out there. Ok I'm sorry I know there could be someone out there that does not like Laurell. However in my very bias and not at all professional opinion she is very good at tearing apart her imagination and wiping it all over the pages. When she writes a book be warned she does not hold back. Blood and guts are a specialty and not just the average battles and death are involved in her books. She will also always make sure there is a decent amount of sex mixed into every situation.

Laurell k. Hamilton has two series of book running write now the first ANITA BLAKE:Vampire Hunter, Hit List is the 20th book in this series(which is also currently coming out in a comic). The second is the Merry Gentry series which has only 8 books written in it and has more sex and magic, a little less violence.

This book "HIT LIST" is based around the main character Anita and her close friend and fellow Marshal "Ted Forrester" Aka "Edward" Aka "Death". I liked the book quite a bit, however I still have a favorite of hers and in this series it still is and probably always will be "Narcissus in Chains". I found in this book it just simply ended far to fast for me. Although I have said that a lot lately, maybe I was simply spoiled and now I always want more. I would give four out of five stars for this book.

The Gathering

This book is written by Kelly Armstrong. I have read quite a few books written by this author and I have always been pleased. A short while ago she started a series of books for teenagers, her other books I had read were all adult. The series consisted of three books (The Summoning, The Awakening and The Reckoning), that I blew right threw and loved. The Gathering is a spin off other those three books so I thought I would really like it.

The main character of this book is a young adopted girl living in the woods, because her father is a park ranger. She goes to school in a little town western Canada. The story started rather slow for me, but knowing the author I kept on reading, soon I was hooked. This book however ends like that three before it... Or should I say does not really end at all. The immediate danger gets wrapped up of course but the main mystery of the story is only just begun to shimmer threw the curtains. So now I will sit in agony waiting for her next book to come and pull me falling into her world. Good job Mrs. Armstrong, good job.
